North South East West, Home's Best!

The wind has died down but the temperature is failing to go up very much since I arose this morning. At 9:30 it's only 9° but the sun is shining brightly. I took a photo earlier from each exposure of my cottage and as you can see, we didn't get much snow. I am happy to report the fireplace wrap worked perfectly and it's much warmer inside, finally!
North south east west,
Home's the place I love the best.

You got lucky then. Some of the photos of the Northeast are scary.

Looking at all the great photos you posted made me want to ask... Do you think you will ever get another dog or cat? You used to have so much company at home. It must feel a little empty. ;-(

Catherine...Thanks for your concern. I am enjoying the freedom of no animals right now. I saw my mother to the end of her days, her cat Tabitha to the end of her days, and our dog Webster to the end of his. Now it's my turn to do what I want. If I do decide on a dog or cat, it will definitely be a rescue. Everyone thinks I am lonely but I'm not.
You are correct. My area was far enough west to be spared the brunt of yesterday's storm except for the low temps and the wind. I don't even have to have my driveway plowed and haven't for the 4 previous snows either. How great is that?!!!
Stay safe and warm. xo, Rosemary

Hi Rosemary,

I have been following you long enough to remember your mother, Tabitha and Webster. ;-) I am so glad to hear you are not lonely! I don't think I could come home to an empty house. We are not all the same. Enjoy your freedom. ;-)
I am glad you didn't get slammed with snow.

Pets are wonderful and become beloved members of the family but they do tie one down. We have become dog sitters to a fairly new grand pup, he's a lot of work! We just finished watching him for 11 days while the family enjoyed Christmas in Hawaii. I think it's the perfect way to have a pet as one ages we were happy to have him and even happier to send him home.

I'm really grateful you've not had to shovel much snow and have not needed your driveway plowed so far this winter. It's lovely to have some snow during the winter but even lovelier as one ages to not have to shovel much of it...best of both worlds. Love the views from your windows.
